Melissa Knott

Melissa Knott, PTA is a seasoned Physical Therapist Assistant with 24 years of experience in the field. Currently in her 17th year at Optimal Physical Therapy, she has built a strong reputation for providing expert care and support to patients on their journey to recovery. Melissa is deeply committed to improving her patients’ mobility, function, and quality of life by assisting with rehabilitation programs, therapeutic exercises, and pain management techniques.

Throughout her career, Melissa has worked with a diverse range of patients, particularly those recovering from orthopedic injuries. She is skilled in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including manual therapy, functional training, and modalities aimed at improving strength and flexibility. Her compassionate and hands-on approach helps patients feel supported and motivated throughout their rehabilitation process.

Melissa holds an Associate of Arts degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland. She continuously seeks opportunities for professional development to ensure she provides the best possible care to her patients. Her dedication to her work and her patients is a testament to her long-standing commitment to the physical therapy field.

Outside of her work, Melissa enjoys spending quality time with her two children, as well as with family and friends.
